Lynn
Walker is known on sutler row as the Sand
Mountain Seamstress. Lynn has lived in the northeast Alabama area
called Sand Mountain for many years, and she began sewing 35 years
ago and has been doing Civil War reproduction clothing for the last 9 years.
Lynn has been setting up on sutler row at re-enactments for over 10 years.
Lynn has also set up in Nashville at the Civil War Show and Sale, and has
done special orders (men's and women's clothing) for period weddings, the
Hunley, Selma ball, and Richmond ball. She has shipped garments to
Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Indiana, Alaska, Nevada, Kentucky, California,
and, of course, to her home state of Alabama. Lynn was recently recognized
in a feature article in Sand Mountain Living, a local magazine. |

Other activities include
Ladies' Tea at re-enactments and school days, and speaking engagements
at UDC meetings showcasing ladies' garments. |

Lynn has made special order
uniforms for living histories and for re-enactors in the movies "Soldiers"
and "Gods and Generals" and also for the Antietam Documentary. She
has been requested to copy uniform designs from portraits and has a strong
customer base that knows her commitment to quality and authenticity. |

There is handwork on every
garment. No two women's garments are made just alike. The reproduction
patterns are the same, but the fabrics and trims are different. Lynn
knows you don't want to meet yourself coming down sutler row, so authenticity
and custom design are very important. |

re-enactment clothing:
Period
(Civil War era) Reproductions; no modern patterns.
Sized
by bust and waist measurements.
Bodices
lined, boned, self piped armscye.
Ball
gowns have 1" underarm seams for adjustments.
Skirts
are pleated to waistband with 2 button closure.
Standard
length 40" with 2.5 - 4" hem.
Pocket
in right side.
1.5"
wide interfaced waistband.
Shipping
charges are buyer's responsibility.
Measure
carefully (Lynn provides detailed measuring instructions to help you get
it right).
No
returns or exchanges. All sales are final.
Check
or money orders accepted.
Lay-a-way
for 90 days with deposit. Deposit is forfeited if not paid in full
after 90 days.
